She was going on and on about what she got her boyfriend for Christmas. She loved keeping it a secret from him and letting him know that she had something really great because she knew he would absolutely love it. She said that she remembers exactly what happened that made her come up with the perfect Christmas present for him. She was in his room, they were watching TV and looking on the computer. Her boyfriend mentioned something and BAM! She knew what she had to get him for Christmas. In the morning, the first thing she did was seek out the gift. The gift is sitting in her room right now, she says, just waiting for her to cleverly wrap it up, and give it to him so that he can open it up and be sorry surprised and happy. She pauses on our way to our next class and looks over at me. “You know,” she says, “I think I know exactly how I am going to wrap it up. It’ll be really cute.” Down the hall we continue to go, me listening, trying to how enthusiasm while she goes on and on, having not a care in the world.
